Deer Land @ Lanchang, Pahang (16-18 Dec 2009)

After Checking out from Colmar Tropicale @ Bukit Tinggi, we visited the Deer Land @ Lanchang. Visitors were allowed to feed the deers and touch the sun bear. If you have time, about 10 mins drive from the deer land is the elephant Sanctuary. However, it closes at 3.30 pm. See link: http://www.virtualmalaysia.com/destination/deerland%20park.html

To get there, you need to get on to the Kuantan-Karak highway, the same highway that takes you to Bentong. After Bentong, you will exit the Karak highway tol. Continue to drive on and you will see an overhead directional sign showing Lanchang, about 28 km away. Once you exit NS highway and turn into Lanchang plaza tol, look out for the Deer Land Directional stage. Follow the signage and drive on until you passed by a fishing pond. Once you reach a junction, where there is a display of the directional arrow of Deerland , turn left. the direction of the Deer land.

Colmar Tropicale, Berjaya Hills @ Bukit Tinggi, Pahang (16-18 Dec 2009)

We visited Colmar Tropicale, a Berjaya Hill Resort in Bukit Tinggi. It is a colonial French-themed Resort located midway between Genting Highland and Benton. It is 2700 ft above sea level ,and takes half an hour drive from Genting higland resort. The place is very popular during the weekends and the highlights are the Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea house and Garden, horse ranch, Rabbit Park, and of course the golf course.

There are italian , western and local cuisine serverd by the few restaurants. The ambience is refreshing and relaxing, and you can also sit and enjoy the staged performance by local artist at night.

To get there from Genting, when you head for the Kuantan karat highway, look out for Berjaya Hills, which is about 26 kim from Genting.

Chamang Waterfall @ Bentong (16 - 18 Dec 2009)

After visiting Wet World Batu Pahat Village resort, we proceed to Genting Highland. We stayed there for 2 days and it was not really interesting as we have visited the place umpteen times. As it was school holiday, the theme park is jam packed with people and you will need to wait at least 1 hour for each ride. The maximum rides you can enjoy for the day would be about 2 to 3 rides. We manage to take only 2 rides as the wait for the 3rd rides was marred by the heavy downpour which led to closure of the entire park. It really not worth going to Genting during the December period due to the wet weather.

From Genting , we proceed to Bentong to visit Chamang Waterfall (Air Chamang). Bentong is an old town and there are few chinese restaurants serving good food. We dropped by at one of the restaurants for our lunch and the food was cheap and delicious. Please note that the Chinese restaurants there closed at 2.30 pm , so make sure you arrived there before 2.00 pm if you want to have a sumptuous meal.

To get there from Genting, take the KL route at the Gontong Raya round about (circle). Once you passed the police check point, slow down and look out for the Kuantan-Karak Signage on the extreme left. Be careful there is also another signage showing "Kuala Lumpur". Do not turn into "Kuala Lumpur". Follow the Kuantan-Karak highway and drive on. Bentong is about 30km away. Look out for the exit signage "Bentong". Once you exit NS highway and turn into Bentong , drive on towards Raub. At about 8km away, look out the signage "Air Chamang". Once you see the signage, about 1 km away, prepare to turn left . There is also the left arrow sign pointing towards Air Chamang. Follow the signage and you will reach the waterfall about 5 km away. Note that the road into Air Chamang is windy and narrow. Need to drive slowly and cautiously. See link : http://www.waterfallsofmalaysia.com/25chamang.php
